My neighbor, who's 78, has had his car stolen 3 times in 3 months, He knew who was responsible, but when he told the police they just said. "sorry sir we need evidence"
So he decided to set a trap, fro the next time it happened.
He got a plank of wood, hammered about 20 nails into it, put it under the front seat cover, then waited for them to come back, which they did, lying awake in bed one night he heard the shout's of "my ass, my ass.....His car hasn't been touched since :-)

But knowing my luck, I'd forget to remove the plank when I got in to drive it..........
Great idea, but he should have got a Trunk Monkey.

Sara, I think if they have their capable, they should be able to drive. I think some 18 year olds shouldn't be allowed to drive, a 78 year has more experience than a 18 year old.

if they are*
maybe his donkey was stealing the car?
surprised, in this politically post Blair/Brown world, that he has not been done for assault.
one of my daughter's friends was killed by an 87 yr old driver a couple of weeks ago. I'm sure he felt fine when he got in the car.

Jesus, just giving some tips here,
My husband set a trap in his allotment hut once because there had been a lot of vandalism and stealing. If you opened the door without disconnecting it there would be a deafening bang. Unfortunately, he was busy talking to his neighbouring allotmenteer and he forgot and opened the door. Hoist by his own petard I think you would call it.

Sorry to hear about that sara, but she could have being killed by an 18 year old.
Not all 80+ peeps are doddery old bu88ers. My neighbour is in her 80's, she drives, she looks fitter than me (50's) and she's as sharp as a button.
having a heart attack at 9am?

not very likely.
with all respect, mrs.c, there comes an age when a heart attack/stroke etc, is more likely. it's not about driving ability.
