One of my teachers is 26, and wears tweed, including when he rides his bike to and from school. Yesterday he told us how he was in a punk rock band at uni and still plays the guitar. Plus he's the one that likes japanese instrumental music and 90s brit pop!

Have you ever heard of something so odd?

On the music side no, most people like a very varied range

Bruce Dickinson, lead singer of Iron Maiden is a world class fencer (the type with the foils not wooden posts) and an airline pilot. I used to be in a Heavy Metal band at school but now I'm bald, like bitter and a nicy cosy country pub but still love ROCK!
I don't think it's odd at all, I like eccentric people.
Maybe he wants to be "down wiv da yoof, like innit"....
Look at Brian May, PhD in astrophysics. People have all sorts of interests, they don't necessarily correlate with their day jobs. Tweed is very "in" - especially in the shires.
I'm not sure what you mean, mollykins. I'm 25 years older than him. I don't wear tweeds, I used to watch all the punk bands in the 70s, I listen to a wide range of music from the last 50 years including lots of stuff like JayZ, Arctic Monkeys etc that you'd find it odd for a teacher to like. I still play football competitively and can outrun most students at my school. I can recognise most songs in the current top 20. Life doesn't stop at 21
well said, factor.
Factor30 is officially a dude.

crafty, he hates R&B.

Boxy, not the way he wears it, plus i'm not from a shire county!

wow factor . . . i didn't say it was, jsut that his combinations of interests and fashion sense is odd . . . IMO anyone whose a punk rocker that wears tweed is a bit eccentric . . .
As I read this about this teacher yesterday I think this is one of the rare occasions that molly has posted for the sake of posting.
Thanks boxtops. And as for Britpop, I'm 25 years older than him but I've sseen many Britpop bands in concert- for example I saw Oasis 3 times, When i went to see them i expected to look totally out of place but when I got there I realised there were plenty of people older than me.
Johnny Rotten wears tweed a lot these days - and I think of Norfolk as rural and shireworthy!
Pixi i would have bet that you started this thread hun!! Lol no offence...as you know i imagine that you are veeery cool! Xxhehe
I wonder if mollykins has a crush on him.....
Question Author
moi, posting for the sake of it?!

I like oasis . . .

J,R. is hardly normal! I don't live in Norfolk and neither does this guy and neither is the school we both attend.
Question Author
Eeww no factor, although he is single. He has a lot of facial hair and is generally not my type . . .
He counts as normal these days.... I don't think your teacher is that odd. He might not fit the norm, but I like an individualist.
It's odd that you think it's odd. Not everybody is moulded around the perfect Mollykins former y'know.
