new lever taps in kitchen
11 Answers
My old taps simply wore out. So I got someone I know to purchase and install a new set of lever taps in the kitchen.
They look nice, but the shutoff of water flow seems to me to be totally unacceptable. However, the man who installed them has been doing work for me for a very long time and I have never found him lacking.
He tells me that modern taps tend to run for a bit after being turned off; sometimes up to 30 seconds before completely shutting off the water flow. I have no reason to doubt him, but I suspect he is simply saying what the people at the stroe told him.
The spout is shaped like a square question mark -- 12" up, 8" horizontal and a 3" drop down.
I told him I would see how I feel after a week or so; but, I just don't like to see so much water being wasted. It runs-on, albeit at a very reduced rate, for a good 15 to 20 seconds.
I would very much like to hear from anyone who knows about these things.
Thank you for any response

I had the same problem with my kitchen taps, they are mixer taps with an upside down "J" shaped spout, when first installed there was a 5 second trickle of water after the handle was turned off, it was annoying at first because they cost a lot of money but eventually it stopped and now as soon as you turn the handle it stops
So there is hope, Elvis68?
Last night I informed the man that I could not live with the taps as they were. He is going to check with the manufacturer and then we will discuss what to do............
I shall certainly keep in mind you experience, as I really don't want the disruption that comes with changing them, unless it is absolutley necessary.
You make me remember a long, long, long time ago, when I rushed out and bought a pair of blue suede shoes with chartreuse, alternating with heliotrope, laces (depended on how I was feeling)
