Is it possible to lose weight more quickly through stress? Went through a horrible time relationship wise (now sorting itself out) and at the start I pretty much stopped eating so lost weight quickly. I did start eating again but my stomach had got used to eating smaller portions and I did like my new shape so kept on with lesser food (I used to have BIG portions!). I've dropped a dress size (and a bit) in 4 months.
I wondered with all the adrenaline pumping around and all the stress, whether it helped you burn calories quicker in any way?!
Feel healthy enough - but just wondered if this was classed as too much of a weight loss in that amount of time. And then started worrying in case I had something wrong with me and that's why I was losing weight!! I should just be happy with the weight loss shouldn't I?!!...
You can indeed lose weight due to stress and as you have said, you either lose appetite or do not have the time or inclination to eat. The same happened to me a couple of years ago, and is was others who noticed.
If you are a decent weight for your height and are happy, relax and enjoy your new summer wardrobe. Eat little and often and healthily.
Yes, weight is fine for my height. Think I've just been used to being a certain size and weight for so long (I was quite happy with it) that I'm shocked to see the weight come off - but very happy at the same time!
You may find that you'll regain the weight once the issue has been fully resolved, as you may start eating more again.
Due to stress I have regularly stopped eating for periods of time, and loss extreme amounts of weight.
Despite being impressed by my weight loss, I tended to be extremely aggressive towards other people and very depressed, I think a mixture of the stress and lack of nutrients.
I don`t think a dress size in 4 months is too fast at all so I wouldn`t worry about that. Most diets say 1.5 to 2lb a week is ideal. I`m not sure abut adrenaline but when you`re stressed you produce cortisol as well and that can cause fat around the abdomen. If you eat a sensible balanced diet you should keep it off.
Well I was always curvy (in a good way - hourglass figure) but a size 18. Went down to a 16 when I had back problems a couple of years ago and was happy with that! Now down to a 14 bottom half (but can actually squeeze into a 12!) and 16 top half. According to the scales I've lost nearly 2 stone. Clothes look brilliant now and everybody is commenting on it!
Determined to stay like this now so still eating healthy and keeping with the smaller portions - and as I'm not starving afterwards I think I must be used to it.
I also lost a stone in two weeks (that I couldn't afford to lose) at a time of great stress. really, unless you need to lose that weight it's very unhealthy as you're virtually starving yourself, and will most likely put it back on once you start eating properly again.
Well I knew my original weight loss was down to me not eating - cereal for breakfast then a slice of toast at night made sure of that! Stress definitely made me lose my appetite but as I've become less stressed I've found it returning (but not as much as before)!
I lost nearly 5 stones in under a year due to stress a number of years ago - I wasn't that big to start off with and ended up looking emaciated (went from over 11 and a half stone to under 7). Just keep an eye on things and make sure they don't get out of hand.
I lost quite a lot of weight through stress a number of years ago, although I felt as though I was eating sensibly I lost about 3 stone in 4 months. I did eventually put a lot of it back on.
yes, same thing happened to me, very stressed last year, settled down this year, I have gained all of the lost weight and more!......seems that if you lose it fast, then you gain it again fast and more!............I am feeling better, but heavier than I have ever been, and not happy with this!...........on a diet for the first time in my life!.....not enjoyable!..........but need to get rid of these extra pounds!...............
that is true because when you are stressed, your body becomes imbalanced and it becomes weak. When you are stressed, your appetite will be affected that is why you can't eat. Yes, you can lose weight but the process can be unhealthy because it will affect your brain.
Not so many people had that fast of a weight loss. If you felt nothing wrong with your health, you should be happy with that. Daily stress can really wore people down.
One more thing. Too much stress is harmful to your health so it is better to have good exercise and happy sex life.

yes there are possible ways to lose weight but you don't have to stress yourself. There are more healthy ways such as being a vegetarian, exercise, and more.
