Laparoscopy during menstruation

Ok sorry if this is gross! I'm due to have a laparoscopy to excise / do diathermy for endometriosis next tues. My cycle can be irregular and unfortunately all the symptoms I'm getting suggest I could start my period within next few days.... Prob the Tuesday! WILL GYNAE STILL DO OP?!!!!! It's bank hol weekend so I have no way of contacting gynae before my admission (7am tues). Scared he'll cancel or not be able to remove enough of the endo :-(
