Hi
I have a blue staffie b*tch and was wondering when she will be due her first season, she is 4 months old at the moment and need to know when to keep a close eye on her as I don't want puppies yet shes far too young yet, maybe in her 2nd or 3rd season. Thanks Julie

I agree...rescue centres are full of them...more than any other breed. It's not the dogs fault...but it's not fair on them when you really can not be certain of the intentions or experience of any one who wants a puppy.

Agree, anytime from six months onwards. I would give it some serious thought before you mate her with Rescue's full of SBT's needing homes.
I have a staffie and she came into season after 6 months. As already said though have a long hard think before deciding to breed her as there's too many in rescue places :-( xx
Sooo many being put down because of irresponsible breeding, think again!!

Totally agree with all the sensible comments above ...

Agree with all of you and thanx for answers, will give it a lot of thought.
Really pleased to hear that. I work in rescue and the one breed we can't seem to re-home are Staffies. I see too many healthy young dogs PTS just because another is nicer.....so bluddy sad :0(

Also Staffies suffer from two hereditary diseases that can be DNA tested for = L2HGA and Hereditary Cataracts. No responsible breeder would breed from a Staffie without having these tests done on both dog and bitch.
Oh I will have to see if I can get mine checked then, as it wasn't from a breeder, thanks lankalee x
