I have a mongrel , known here as a heinz dog.
My friend in the US calls him a salad bar dog.

What other phrases are there that have the same meaning?

Here in the US they're called mutts or a variation of one of yours is Heinz 57.  I like the Aussie term, Bitzer... bits of this, bits of that...

I've heard people use the word 'bitsa' or 'bitza to describe a mongrel.

I've also heard yhe term "mixed grill" used!

In Danish we use "gadekryds" which means crossroad or intersection, it sounds rather silly in English. :0)
