Second guess

Does anyone find this particular americanism useful, or, like me, just annoying. It means guess, or anticipate, etc., and I find it an imprecise and therefore useless phrase.

Its not guess really is it? to second guess someone is to predict which choice they have made....they make the first guess, you make the second. Generally speaking, though all americanisms are annoying as they remind us of the existence of americans. (Yes Im being deliberately provocative. No I dont really mean it, its just americans are so cute when they are angry.)
