When someone's name suits the job they do? Like Mr Taylor, who is a tailor, or Mr Coates, who sells coats.
Do you know any that are not quite so obvious, where the link between the name and the occupation is a bit more tenuous?

Head of urology at Kingston Hospital is Dr Dick.
The estate agent acting for me is named House (honestly).

on another tack, we had a teacher called miss rutter and another called mrs nutt ... very confusing for my poor mum on parents evening!

retired a while ago but one doctor in my town was called De'ath.

We have a dentist up the road called Dr Mendham...

Dr De'Ath in Northampton only had a small practice.......;o/
My lste husband when he was young had a doctor called Dr De'ath too. My gynocologist was called Mr Coxon.
I never forget an entry in Liverpool Telephone Area Directory back in the 60's
it read :- Tickle, The Misses - and was real - two spinsters who lived alone didn;t want their forenames publishing !
