What in the world does the nickname Ouisch given to Ruth Ann Moorehouse (The Manson Family) mean?

They were so high most of the time the name probably doesn't mean anything

The nickname was given to her by George Spahn, owner of Spahn Ranch where the Family lived for a good part of 1968/69.  Have not been able to find any explanation as to *why* he called her that.

I know French, and "oui" means yes. I wonder if it's got something to do with that. Hard to say, like someone said they were all so high much of the time....
