Is It Just Me?

Am I out of date with the lingo on the streets?
The schools started back today, and my friends' daughter went back last night. She says she "shotgunned" a top bunk. I asked her what that involved, and apparently to "shotgun" something is just like to "bagsy" something.
Is it just me who totally did not know that ??

I can't get some of the lingo either, but then i don't really care, i had enough once inadvertently listening to a record which had more mother f***ers in it than it had other words, including the word n***er, i'm no prude, but found it tedious and offensive.

em ...
I still can't work out why Jessie J (whom I actually quite like) used the word "motherf***er" in her single "Do It Like A Dude". Whenever it's played on the radio, it's bleeped out. Whan she sings live, she moves the microphone away from her mouth. So the song is never heard in full, except on her CD, so why did she think those were good lyrics???

I'm not anti swearing.
I'm not a prude.
So swear on your records if they're going to be played on some late night, adult radio show.
But if your target radio show is, say ... Capital Radio?? ... why make a record that they can't play without several bleeps of silence? Your record is never played in its original form, so why bother recording it in that form?

Aside from the meaning you mention ankou everyone also uses ' shotgun' in the same way you would use bagsy or dobsin- to secure a place. so you can 'shotgun' a chair or say something like 'I'm shotgunnin the bathroom tomorrow first because I've got to be out early', so I think she meant it in that context which at least around here (Worcestershire) is the way it's often used.
