It was a great game with many more points earned this weekend.
However, some of you threw away your chance of points by not sticking to the rules. Here is a reminder:
1) All answers will be from 4 to 8 letters in length so 'God' and 'political' didn't stand a chance.
2) All answers must stand alone as a word in their own right so 'child + splay' is acceptable but 'mother + sruin' isn't.
3) I am lenient on spelling so long as your intention is obvious. Just don't go claiming that 'black' is a misspelling of 'white'.
4) I don't distinguish between words in front of, or words after, the challenge word so (as we have had in the past) 'song + bird' counts as being the same as 'bird + song'.
5) Simple derivatives of words are accepted as being equivalent as long as they have the same meaning. eg. -ing, -ed and all plurals.
Now that the game is over, I can reveal that 'The Court Jester' (aka kettledrum) teased you with the following pairings
PARTY ANIMAL
BABY GRAND (her house isn't large enough for a 'grand piano'
MOTHER GOOSE (yes - it is still pantomime time)
CHILD BENEFIT
29 points were earned in this one. Did you claim one or more of them? Find out below.

No best answer has yet been selected by gen2. Once a best answer has been selected, it will be shown here.
For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.BigMac was first to score with 'Party Animal' - probably a bit of one himself?
Rockfordill, lysander and centrino then chose 'Mother Goose' for two points each
while beejay, slaney and Strix opted for a 'baby grand' also for 2 points
The final link of 'child benefit' was claimed by x-ray with the clock still standing at 9:03.
Several single points were claimed by later players, mostly for 'Mother Goose' but amongst them were two double-hitters:
Miranda's Mum and Chris Hewat (Chris)
We therefore have joint hotshots
