what does 'don't let your mind run over matter' mean

What does the above phrase mean? As in me havin feelings for a close friend of mine ( we were originally dating but he got burnt bad by his ex he doesn't know what he wants n we decided to stay friends, but there is definately still something there- everyone including him says we need to bang our heads together-

A conversation between me and a mutual friend

Me : :(
Her: what's up mate?
Me: liam
Her: what about him......?
Me: I still like him :(
Her: don't do anything just see how things go cos I think there's still unfinished business there
Me: I'm not sayin / doin anything
Her: don't let ur mind run over matter, uve got a great relationship with him-

She's in work now so can't reply but I hate it wen I don't know what phrases mean - can someone please exxplain within the above context please x

Not heard the expression myself, but judging from the context it is advice not to stick there worrying about the matter. Put your concerns away. Accept what you already have and enjoy it for what it is. Wait and see if it develops rather than fret about it.

"Don't let you mind run" = "Stop thinking excessively about"
"over the matter." = "that which is presently concerning you."
O_G has summed up the matter.

A similar phrase here in the U.S. would be "It's just mind over matter"... but means, figuratively at least, working though a situation by not being overly emotional, but, rather approaching the problem relying on facts only (as much as possible)...
