As you all know my windows live account is blocked and I have tried many ways to unblock it - anyway came to a site and you could ask a question re the windows and it was no win no fee. The question was not answered correctly so I said no not happy. Just looked at my online banking account and they went ahead and took £28 from the account. I am so bl dy stupid for giving my card number. I sure hope they dont take any more money from me now that they have my number. bah humbug

I'd cancel your card to be on the safe side - oh dear - what a good way to rake in some money....

Thanks for your replies but cancelling the card can be a headache as the - various sites refer to the card. I will keep an eye on the online banking and if it happens again will cancel it. I feel so foolish - you know I was always 50 50 hearing but got bad news last week that I am 80 20 deaf. So it is sometimes very hard and also you have to depend on people's good will to make phone calls for me.
Do you get a local free paper? or even a normal local paper? Have a look in the adverts for someone who fixes or helps with PC issues and call them up. It sounds to me like you have been scammed.
How awful for you Connemmara, out there there are some robbing bsds as you have found out, I am not a million miles up on the PC but there are a lot on here that will help you I'm sure, ask for help & I'm sure someone will help you, its worth a try without costing you.

I'm aware of that Headwreck but looking at what she has posted she used another site! am I right?
I'm very concerned that Connemmara is going to find an empty bank account if the card isn't cancelled immediately. I think the initial email was a scam as was this site where they charged her for fixing the issue.

Did you come to the fixing site via the original email Connemmara?
Connemmara - are you sure that it wasn't a legit site? I thought that I had been scammed some years but but it was my internet provider and the payment was due.

You need to get yourself a toyboy who is a computer whizz and all these problems will be a thing of the past. ;-)

How did her account become blocked Headwreck? has no-one tried to help her on here? I've not seen or heard of her plight before today.
-- answer removed --
TWR, people did try to help but it seems that the information may already have been given out to give the scammers access before Connemmara asked for help.

I've got it now, thanks Daffy.
cancel your card connemmara

you can contact the windows live team regarding your account block, my daughters account was blocked for a short time, it was misunderstanding and after a couple of emails it was unblocked.
what site was it Connemmara? I once used a techie site to find out how to fix a microwave and the didn't answer the question - with a bit of persistence I got my money back.
Connemara-have you tried this? - http://windowslivehelp.com/

You should be able to ask any questions there.
Windows also has Q&A forums - like this - where you may find a solution.
I'm not sure that your problem has anything to do with BT. In what way is your account blocked? Is it not recognising your password?

Here are some forum search results that I got by typing in 'cannot access windows live account' on the page I've just given you.

You should also ask for help in the Technology topic here on AB.

thanks everybody I have done all that - just a wee bit afraid to go further - will have to get a techie - gone online banking - I dont think anymore money will be taken out as I would take it further if they did. It was windows live centre that I went into and round and round that site the "question" came up so I thought since windows live should be safe I did give the number but to no avail. I have been through windows live help centre about 4 times and cant get any answers. But thanks everybody xxxx
