ABers ages

Coming up to my fortieth, got me thinking..
a wwhile ago there was a poll Iabout users ages. I was quite surprised that the majority answered that they were my age or older, mostly older I think. It made me think that, my perceptions of some users ages were way off the mark. I am usually in Q&P where I imagine the age group is higher than other topics as some take a lot of practice, but all the same it made me question what other perceptions I had of other users and how accurate they may or may not be. I understand this is the attraction ld be interested t of the internet / internet forums for some, but would be interested to know;
1.have you read a post that has made you reconsider your opinion (for want of a better word) of the user
2.no details necessary unless you're happy to - who, what or at least what was the Q or A that did it?
3. Other (cop out yes but tired now)
???

Similarly, Starbuckone can come across as extremely youthful unless you read the post where SB1's real age (84) is actually mentioned!
BTW, to save you asking, the answer to your question is 'approaching 59' ;-)
Anyway, I gave up worrying about age when I was 46 and I wanted to go swimming. The only convenient public session at the pool (in between the kids' school lessons and their club lessons) was an 'Over 50s' one but I thought that I could probably sneak in. When I asked for a ticket I was half hoping that the assistant would challenge me about my age. Instead she simply said "Certainly sir. Do you qualify for our over-60s discount?". OUCH!!!

I'm 51 but I believe you can be amazed by the ignorance of people old enough to know better, and equally astounded by the wisdom of those who shouldn't know that much yet. I'm with Douglas in still feeling as though I'm in my mid 20's but the age of the poster of a quesiton has nothing to do with whether I agree with them or not, that's purely a personality thing, for example I love Starbuckone, she's grand, lovely person with a very sensible outlook on life, equally I liked the slightly crazy Mollykins who was one of our younger members.
Thanks for answers, you're examples are much what i was thinking, and to prove the point - did not think chris or starbuck anywhere their given ages..
NOX - had you down as a little younger too, absolutely agree with what you and douglas say, it was a similar thought that prompted the post.
Mamya - love your answer :)
Jem - come back and spill!?
Oh and not worried in the slightest about my age, my thirties were great, just pondering..
P.S just noticed this q on facebook, feel a bit proud as I don't ask many lol

In the same vein as Buenchico's swimming story, when I first took a suit to be dry-cleaned after I'd reached 65, I asked whether they'd taken my Senior Citizen's discount off the price. I even had my 'pink card' at the ready as irrefutable evidence of entitlement.
"Oh yes, sir!" they replied.
Rather disappointing.

About 15 years ago I went with my 11-year-old boy to get him the new jeans of his choice. He duly selected and tried on, and we went to the till. The gentleman owner of the shop remarked how much easier it was for youths if they came shopping with their grandma's.....
