After 244 years there will no longer be a printed version of the Encyclopedia Britannica. I'm sure we've all seen that row of volumes in the local library but from now on there won't be any new editions to replace it.
The regrettable ending of an era or no big deal?

We had a full set that my parents bought when I was a kid and I used to love sitting in the dining room flicking through all the pages and pictures. Especially the human body section, it had this cool little flip page that broke down the body parts. It did just end up being a massive pain in the arse though, having to shift them all every time we moved house (which was quite a few times) and although they ended up ignored and unloved in the garage nobody was brave enough to suggest we got rid of them, until last year when they broke the shelf they were on so I took them to the dump. Think I'll be happy to stick with online versions now.
