banned question

Just wondering why my rather inoffensive question about alternative mp3s to the ipod has been banned from the internet and technology page? It's still there on the shopping page. I see that the AB ed has moved an answer from internet & technology to shopping, but why can't the question stay in both? Surely the point of the site is to share knowledge, yet the AB ed has made a conscious decision to remove this and I don't understand why. I'm a legitimate user of this very useful site and this deters me from returning somewhat.

they dont like it when you mention brand names, because it could be a seen as advertising. They also dont want to be seen to be saying good/bad things about particular brands

So they should put up a sign saying "The views expressed on AB are those of the individual user not those of AB".  I do take your point though smellyman! :-)

Brand names are used througout the Answerbank - in both questions and answers. The post in question was removed because it was a dulplicate, as per the Site Rules (Please.... avoid posting questions and answers more than once. Duplicate questions and answers will be deleted.) Your answers from the removed post were added to the post that stayed so that no information was lost.
