someone please advice on this amt active management technology as just dont get it
I have a dell optiplex 755 tower wich has intel core 2 processor.i get messiage saying that its got amt active management technology wich did bring window up saying this is enabled...so my question is what is it and is it safe for me to still do onlin bankig and personal stuff credit card sales etc etc or can others see this as i dont get what this amt thing is ,its a second hand pc but ive reinstalled windows 7 on it i also have kasperskey internet security on it.so i should be ok yes as surely they wouldnt make a pc with this amt on for other people to hack my pc as when i google it it seems to say its all about others seeing whats on my pc even when it turned off is this correct as i just havnt a clue what its all about...chuck if you out there advice

If you want to disable it then you can do so in the BIOS by switching the computer on and when you see the dell logo on the screen tap F2, once in the BIOS look under advanced settings and then look for intel active management and set it to disabled.
You can also stop the icon for it loading in windows by running MSCONFIG and unticking intel active management under the services and startup tab.

any thanks chuck,so just to be sure then i dont have to worry at all about doing my online banking and buying selling ebay etc ..if it doesnt effect anything ill just leave it as is.many thanks chuck for answering i apreciate all the help you have given over past few posts of mine.at end of day i worry so always best to make sure something is right.gain thanks
