Is it true that this is the only word - in the English language - that ends with "MT"?

There's also 'amt' which is an abbreviation of amount so not sure if it counts as a 'proper word'

Yes, in combination with its related words 'undreamt' and the rather archaic 'adreamt'.

I know,  that's why I asked if it counted.  It's just that said aloud one doesn't really notice the 'p'.

This website offers a few more abbrevs - including PMT - that no-one mentioned before!!!  And GMT.  However, as you will see, there were no more "proper" words.  So it looks like you're right Birchy! :-)
