The search box is always blank - maybe there should be some initial text, such as "Enter you search terms here" or "Search The AnswerBank", that gets cleared as soon as one clicks on it, same as the question box shows "Enter Your Question Here" which gets cleared when one clicks on that box.

It might make the search capability more obvious to those new to the site - or might make no difference at all to the number of questions that duplicate what has already been asked.

For some reason I thought it already had text in there!

I'll add it to the list.

Good idea, bibble. Particularly in Q&P and Crosswords, people don't seem to look to see if their clue's been asked before.

maybe the surrounding area for the box should be really bright and gawdy so that ed could start marketing AB shades and make a few bob on the side

Maybe the text should be more direct e.g. "Has your question been asked before? Click here." (that fits in the current box), and to make it more noticeable it could be in a different colour, e.g. blue.

Ed - don't forget the "go to latest answer" on your list, please..... (not relevant to this OP, just a reminder :-)
