Im still having trouble. Can anyone please help now I have sent for the birth certificate of George William Chubb b10 March 1884 in Chelsea. Father looks as if could be Henry ( occ -plumber) not Harry. Mother is Elizabeth Jane Chubb, formerly Kingston. Born at 93 Robert Street, I presume Chelsea. I still cannot find them, even on street search. I cant even find a marriage of Harry(Henry) and Elizabeth Jane

I thought when I got the birth cert, everthing would fall into place but there are so many that could fit but then something else rules it out. Its a real mystery. Its strange that I cant even find the address in the census. Thanks for your help anyway. I`ll keep hunting
Still cant find them but something interesting just popped up when I googled Robert Street, Chelsea. It appears that Thomas Crapper was apprentice to a plumber on Robert Street and then in 1861 set up his own business as we know invented the syphon and ballcock toilet cistern. Theres a photo of all his employees outsdie his shop too. Ive written to the firm who are still going, and they even have a FB page, and are going to find out if this Henry/Harry Chubb worked for him and see if theres any other info they can give me. Im so excited that hopefully this might be a breakthrough. I will be going down there sometime in the summer and go into it more deeply though.
