What is the largest object that could pass through the stomach?

As the title suggests I would like to know the largest object that would pass through my stomach without lodging at the bottom of it. I could do this myself by swallowing ever larger marbles but do not want to go to these lengths.

It would not be as big as a ball used for stomach stapling operations so can anyone here give me a proper answer. Do NOT start swallowing things just to please me; I do not need to know the answer that badly.

There is no "proper answer" as you put it and would depend upon the size of the individual, child or adult and the shape and texture of the foreign body. most objects will get stuck at the upper or lower end of the oesophagus and if they pass through the stomach outlet, providing that there is no perforation of the bowel, will pass out normally.

Size?.......nothing larger than a large marble in my opinion.

I am sure I once read about people in Asia who swallowed sheets bit by bit and pulled them out of the other end, believing it cleaned their insides.
But I can't find anything via Google so maybe it was an April Fool story, and thinking about it I very much doubt it would work

The people who are done for drugs smuggling in customs appear to have filled condoms, about the size of a large sausage, which pass through in one piece (unless, of course, they don't).

Thanks yogasun- the swallowing the long sheet of material was what i remember reading about or seeing on TV. This chap eats it and then puls it back out of his mouth. Maybe I mis-remembered the bit about pulling the sheet out at the other end.
