I use it as humble opinion too, though only when I'm not being humble at all but wish to be thought so. This seems to be normal practice!

I also usually read IMHO as if it's typed with a slight tone of sarcasm.  Rather similar to the old overused saying of "No offence but" a la the South African make up counter woman from the Fast Show!
