Last week I asked about a tool-bar that is now on my laptop. It appeared after OH had updated something to do with the Garmin.

Anyway, now the whole interface has changed. When I switch on it used to go straight to the Google page. Now I have this strange page with the same symbol, a little box of spanners with a number 7 on it, as appears in the toolbar.
Also in the URL line, where I used to get a Mozilla symbol (I think), now there''s a pale symbol. When I click on it I get a drop down which says "This website does not supply identity information" and "Your connection to the web is not encrypted" . I'm really worried. Please help I'd like my proper Google page back and I want to get rid of all this unknown stuff. Please remember I really am not up on technology at all so don't understand technical jargon. Thank you.

Chuckfickens will know more about it than me, but in the meantime go to your list of Installed Programmes and uninstall it if it's listed there.
Do a Malwarebyte Scan as well to be on the safe side

Thanks Redman. How do I do that? I think Chuck's busy on CB at the minute; hopefully he'll be along later:-)
Click Start button and look in Control Panel where you will find list of installed Programmes. Do a Scan as well just incase it's a rogue Programme
...further to what redman41 said: you might also find what you're seeking under Programs and Features (in Control Panel).
If you are using Firefox:

Open Tools | Addons

Click Uninstall next to the toolbar name

Thanks all. I'll certainly come back later and let you know how I get on.

Firefox or IE?
Question Author
Mozilla firefox
Would it be as simple as changing your home page back to google in the browser internet options ? Try your browser menus and see if that helps.

Well, I've manged to get rid of the little tool bars, but in the right of the main URL line i.e. in the little search box I still have "Produtools Maps Customised Web Search"
In the search box click on the icon showing and choose 'Manage Search Engines'. You can then highlight and delete any unwanted items.

Thank you SlackAlice, that's sorted it:-)))

Thanks to all of you for your help; it's much appreciated.
