and if so who said it?

I've heard of 'music is the best cure for a sorrowing mind', which is a Latin proverb.

Often misquoted as savage beast. (And, er, Cotgreve is sometimes given as Congreve.) seltzman, I'm sure I've heard your quotation before, as well as andy's, but darned if I can find it anywhere online or off. Sorry, but at least you didn't just imagine it.
