Laptop Problem

When I plug my headphones into my laptop the music still plays out of the laptop, how can I stop this?

and your headphones too ? if not you got them plugged into the wrong socket

I think you may have plugged the headphones into the microphone socket instead of the headphones socket - the sockets are usually next to each other. Try the other socket. They should also be marked, one socket with a little picture of headphones and the other with a picture of a microphone - I hope this helps
