At the presentation ceremony for tennis’ Australian Open Women’s Singles Final today, runner-up Li Na from China was announced from the podium with the words “She’s battered and bruised and quite possibly buggered…..” What does this mean in "Australian" because I doubt SAue Barker would keep her job if she said that in front of the croiwd and TV at Wmbledon?

It has the same meaning (not the sexual one) in Oz as it does here

flump - I took a sip of tea as I read your remark and it has come down my nose cos I was laughing so much at your answer.

"slip of the tongue" may be a bad phrase to use when talking about a word that can also have a sexual meaning
