Those other people cannot know these secret truths. 12 The people who have some understanding will be given more. And they will have even more than they need. But those who do not have much understanding will lose even the little understanding that they have. 13 This is why I use these stories to teach the people: They see, but they don’t really see. Don‘t worry Naomi regarding some of “the deep things of God. ) These are not to be debated in academic circles, most people do not need a scientific consensus to believe that humans have a spiritual need. It is our spirituality that triggers in our mind what some call ultimate questions: Why are we here? What should we do with our lives? who are we accountable to?.

Goodlife, I’m not worried – and if you were au fait with my posts you would know that. I fully appreciate that man possesses a sense of spirituality, but I think religion, with its insignificant, spiteful, God and its man-made doctrine, is barking very much up the wrong tree. If a creator exists, common sense dictates it has to be something rather more substantial – and rather less petty-minded - than that. To say that ‘These are not to be debated in academic circles’ is tantamount to saying ‘don’t ask questions – just believe what you’re told’ – but that simply isn’t good enough because it results in the irrational assumption that a supernatural entity, for which there is no evidence whatsoever, has the answers – and that is just plain potty. I see no reason why our lives must have a specific purpose, or why we must be accountable to anything other than the law of the land.
//Yes Naomi, your world you live in is a world without answers. years of human history have proved that. Nor has this present dazzling world of science come up with answers. //
Oh I don't know about that. It seems to me that the more answers science comes up with the less authority your bible has.
Were you aware, for example, that the world is not flat or that the earth revolves around the sun or that tiny microbes can cause diseases.
Aren't you ashamed. You denigrate the very science that allows you to live to in relative comfort and to a reasonable age.
Your bible and religion has contributed absolutely nothing to the well being of man.
