Correct Grammer ???

A sports headline in a daily newspaper reads " PADDY THRONE INTO HOT SEAT". (Paddy Jackson replaces Jonny Sexton in Irish rugby team)
Is this proper grammer, or should the "THRONE read "THROWN" or maybe both can be used. Any views?

It should of course be THROWN but maybe it's a pun on the word seat, as sports pages love these (Walcott says we're Gunner win the Champions league, etc)

I don't get the connection between a young lady and tinned meat. Did they think it was tinned human? (Pre horsemeat scandal?) Am I being stupid here somewhere? I am still mopping up spilled tea.

Well, they didn't really think it was her in a tin. Apart from anything else there wouldn't have been enough of her to go round. But seeing tinned meat for the first time they must have wondered what type it was.
