Cold Hands

Can anyone help? It happened again today, sitting quite cosy in shorts and a t-shirt and the wife leans over and touches me with her ice cold hands. What is that all about? Is there pills she can take?? Why is she cold when the average temperature is mild???

Some people are colder than others. I work with a person who's cold all the time - I'm sitting there in a t-shirt and she's got a vest and a hot water bottle.

My feet are always like ice, my hands aren't much better.

I have Raynauds disease, which is quite common. Maybe your wife has too?

Everyone's circulation is different,some people feel the cold more than others,just think of the old saying cold hands!!!!!etc.

Some people just have different natural temperatures I think.

I tend to run hot, especially as I have RA so hot hands etc...

Poor Circulation or Raynaud's syndrome - I'm the same, but it occurs in my feet and nose as well as my hands.

My nose is always cold too, QoM! Mr P reckons it's a sign I'm healthy. Cheeky sod.

Many reasons, but the question that comes to mind is:

"Is she taking beta blockers for high BP."

If you squeeze her fingernail and it immediately becomes pink on release that indicates good circulation. It could be a neuropathy problem.

One treatment for raynaud's disease is Nifedipine. I no longer have numb and frozen feet in winter. It really works, and doctors should easily be able to diagnose Raynaud's and prescribe what is needed.
