Wowzers! How old is she and when is the trip?
that's harsh.. and the price of a family holiday!
Explain the dangers is skiing and the risk of being eaten by a moose that should put her off
Ridiculous, why Colorado? Plenty of places in Europe to go.
I would say no even if she wanted to go.

Lol Brinjal, I may very well use that

It's for next April, she'll be 13.

We're supposed to be saving for a big holiday to South Africa.
it's a "no" then. I'm sure it'll just be the elite kids who can afford to go
I would not let her go, its too expensive. You should save your money and have a nice family trip that you will all have memories of.

Think it'll have to be a big fat no to be honest, that's an approx cost as well, then she'll need spends. Believe it or not, every year this trip is over subscribed and they draw out of a hat.
Question Author
Chill, they do Austria a few weeks before as well, that was about £800-£900!
Well at 12/13 it's unlikely she'll be able to fund it herself.
As above, why Colorado?! Tell the school there are plenty of dry ski slopes here in the UK!!
I hate it when schools do this, there will always be kids that can't afford it. There are cheaper ways to go skiing, France, Europe etc.
Our school was the same RR, we had ski trips all over the place, although it was cheaper back then!
I'm sure she will understand if you say no, especially since you are hoping to go to South Africa :)
Yeah...go to Milton Keynes :-)
Question Author
Oh yeah, forgot about Milton Keynes, she can stay in the Premier Inn ;)

I actually don't think she wants to go so hopefully I don't have to be the baddie. Do peeps not know we're in a recession?
That's amazing. How irresponsible of a school to organise such an expensive trip in this economic climate.
looks like it will just be archie moneybags and the teach then
Sth Africa is a far better choice. No moose there.
Blimey, where is she ? Roedean? Though come to think of it, I don't think Roedean does trips like that.
Try the snowdome Tamworth, much cheaper, rocky.
