9pm last night had a call supposedly from Nat West saying they think there is suspicious activity on my account. Just press any number to continue. I hung up. I do not have an account with Nat West. Not content, they sent a message asking me call a number. I ignored it. Today Sunday, they have called twice, both times I hung up. Does a bank really call you at 9pm at night and on Sundays? I am beginning to curious.

Ignore them. It looks like some sort of scam.
As you don't have an account with them I would have thought the answer was obvious..............
Well, yes. There is that too...
I have had calls like this from my bank when I've used my card before in different locations on the same day, but they were from "my bank" so legit. If you don't have an account with the bank calling I can't see them being anything but a scam.

Yes, thanks everyone. I thought it must be a scam that's why I hung up on them. I'll probably go into the local branch and report it and give them the number.
Perhaps they have a wrong number for someone . I have been rung by Nat West for the same reason and they haven't used my name in the phone message. And yes they do ring in the evenings and on Sundays. Have they used your name in the phone message?
When I got a call from Santander, telling me that there had been suspicious activity on my account, I was extremely wary of telling them anything (and nearly hung up). However I found out that a total of £800 had been withdrawn from my account, at cash machines nowhere close to me, without my knowledge. (Fortunately I got it back without too much hassle).

So you might find that the call is genuine (particularly in view of their persistence) and that you need to act to protect (or recover) your money.

Of course the apparent flaw in my argument is that you don't actually have a NatWest account. However if you've got an account with RBS, Ulster Bank, Drummonds Bank or (if you're like the Queen!) Coutts, then you may well still need to act. They're all part of the same group as NatWest and may well coordinate their security arrangements through NatWest.
You say "supposedly" from Natwest. Many banks use an automated system, especially outside normal hours. I don't know if they are linked to each other or not
The best thing is just to phone your bank and ask them if there is a problem. Do it asap. The fraud team are open all hours as far as I know.
Ring your own bank now, they will be there for this sort of situation.
Snap boxy! That is the obvious thing to do. I would have done it as soon as I received the call last night.

Whatever the problem is, it's not mine I'm happy to say. Bank affairs are in order so it must have been a wrong number.
