There certainly is Boxtops. not far from where I live. The late Richard Whitely was known to be the Mayor of Wetwang !
Ive gone through all the ones I can think of Marjory but cant help Im afraid

There was someone from wetwang in Yorkshire that had something to do with jam. I will try and find a link. It does not mean the answer is correct, its just that I don't know another place in Yorkshire associated with a jam maker. Give me a minute.

I'm not sure if it's a joke conversation but the weather man on Look North has been referred to as the mayor of Wetwang, but as I said it could just be him and the anchorman winding each other up as they usually do.
