I gotta send docs to insurance company for personal ID
i cant understand your post tamborine..you have NOT got to send any form of i.d to anyone..i wouldnt send any personal information to anyone..ring your insurance company [if thats who wants id]..do not send any personal info over the internet..well thats my advice anyway..
If you're asked for a 'certified copy', you need to take the relevant document (such as your passport) to a solicitor. They'll photocopy the document and sign it (adding their office stamp to show who has done it). The usual cost is a fiver.
Ah, good :) Chris has also covered the issue relating a certified copy. Very quick, just needs a solicitor about to do one, some Legal Executives can do them as well. Notary Publics can but tend to be more expensive.
I used to do them quite a lot for people who would just pop in or ring up.
I would send the originals quite honestly
I didnt realise there was such an industry for certified copies (in the industry)
If you read further - now your brain is unmushed - they might say a bank does the certification for free (!)- TSB of which I am not a customer in my case.
