But I still wonder - who originates them?, and when and by whom are they accepted into mainstream language? I mean, I could invent some internet saying like IAPOMS, meaning 'I am p*ssed out my skull', but would it become accepted? If so, by how many people? If not, why not? Would it depend on how many people on the net (or part of it) knew me? How popular I am? I really don't know.
I'm sure, Romeo, that whether these things catch on or not is related to how 'useful' they are deemed to be. Given their very nature, it would be almost impossible to establish who originated any given one of them. All that a 'creator' of such things might hope is that he/she should put their offering out there and see what happens.
Have a go with IAPOMS, though it seems to me to be too elaborate. How about just POS or even POOS for 'P'd out of skull'? (And if either of those does catch on I'M claiming it!)
Thank you for your kind comment, by the way.
