For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.For it to be a saying, it would have to be something reasonably known and commonly said by lots of people - "religion is opium for people", for example. Especially good would be to get it slightly wrong, e.g. "all that glitters is not gold" or "methinks the lady doth protest too much".
