I dont know the right answer to this - does anyone know? (thanks!).

My grandmother was married twice and with her first husband produced a son who was always known as my uncle.

Her second husband is my actual grandfather.

What relation is the first grandfather to me?

your first grandfather is no relation,the uncle is just that, born of the grandmother

Did the first husband die or was there a divorce? not sure if it makes a difference though. I don't think the first 'grandfather' is actually related at all, he is just ' grandmothers ex husband' .

None, he was never a relation (assuming your grandmother had married your actual grandfather before you were born).

If I'm understanding this correctly, your grandmother's 2nd husband is your actual grandfather, i.e. he's the father to one of your parents ??
In which case, I'm in agreement with the previous posts, he's not actually related to you.
