Just knocked a full glass of wine over onto a glass topped table. Glass smashed into smithereens, OH not happy, his laptop got drenched. I cut my thumb on broken glass, took ages to mop up the mess.

Really annoying. Will the laptop be okay?
Oh my -not good Caran.

Worst we ever had was when we had a glass topped dining table - daughters were playing up and my husband lost his cool and ordered them to hush - unfortunately accompanied by bringing the end of his fork down sharply on the table.

Result a shattered plate glass table top and all dinner on the floor.

Well he mopped it up and he thinks it ok so I don't know what else I can do, apart from finding something else to drink!

Oh Mamya what a disaster, this was a glass topped coffee table that has survived all sorts of disasters.
Always keep a spare plaster and a spare bottle
You never know when you might need to get plastered
Its the wine I'd be upset about..

Thanks methyl, he has gone to bed now but I'll make a note for him tomorrow.
It'll be dry and sticky tomorrow.
Question Author
I know ummmm but he said it's ok. So we will see tomorrow. I know I'll get it in the neck.
Mop up the wine with a sponge, squeeze sponge into fresh glass, continue drinking, waste not want not.
Question Author
Wish I'd thought of that baza, but we panicked!
Question Author
I've just poured myself a sloe gin as compensation.
Lol Baza...you only do something like that when you're on your own!!! :-)
Thats true. like the 3 second rule.
Question Author
I agree with that!
Apparently there is some truth in the 3 second rule. I can't remember what programme I was watching but it was something about food.
All glass topped tables are a potential danger, and I wouldn't have one the
in the house. I saw one shatter once and it scared the life out of me !
I thought it was just the wine glass that smashed, not the table. Perhaps I read it wrong.
