also they can watch them, such is the technology....you have to remember that the security services use processors that are three to five generations on from what you and I can buy.....seven years ago it was the Intel Nonium and you could watch on the ground in near-real time....think of the satellite capturing loads of x-y shots and then they 'simulate' through the z axis....
