The journalist and agony aunt Sally Brampton has been found dead after walking into the sea, having suffered from depression for many years. I remember reading many of her articles over her career.
What a terrible illness this is.RIP, Sally.

Very sad news. I recently downloaded her memoir ,"Shoot the Damn Dog"...I've yet to read it though.

As a species we have achieved so much but we still haven't 'cured' Clinical Depression or Dementia. It is sad that she felt that she had no other option but to end her life to stop the pain.

Whilst they are at it they could try finding a cure for the common cold.
