Bbc Travel Website Alternative
The BBC Travel website has finally closed. It was useful site which lets you know which roads are congested before the start of your journey. Does anyone know an alternative site which offers similar service?

I use Google traffic maps, which give a visual indication of traffic flow on the roads.
https:/ /www.go ogle.co .uk/map s/place /Manche ster+M4 0/@53.4 738245, -2.2470 938,12z /data=! 4m5!3m4 !1s0x48 7bb0534 29f323b :0x3dcb 9791204 86d59!8 m2!3d53 .502959 2!4d-2. 190966! 5m1!1e1
The link shows the roads around Manchester, but you can zoom in/out and scroll to your home location then save the map in your favourites.
I check the roads for my daily commute to avoid sitting in a jam.
