We lived on that Avenue before coming here, just over ½ mile away, but I doubt we'll see in on the 'front.

It's no use stroking them, And saying "Puss, puss, puss."

I'm thinking Maine Coon, size is about right
The Maine Coon is one of the largest domesticated breeds of cat. It has a distinctive physical appearance and valuable hunting skills. Wikipedia
Scientific name: Felis catus
Origin: United States of America
Length: 1 m (Adult, From nose to tail tip)
Common nicknames: Gentle giants
Mass: Male: 5.9 – 8.2 kg (Adult), Female: 3.6 – 5.4 kg (Adult)
They are BIG...and gorgeous. Doesn't B00 have one? They do look lynx-like.

The reason I favour it being a Maine Coon is that I know the area very well, we lived on Hampton Pier Avenue until April last last year and we're only about ½ mile away now.
It has the Sea on one side (Seaside) and the other 3 sides are well developed/populated areas for quite a distance all 'round.
