Given the recent tragic and untimely death of fellow ABer Mikey, do you find (at least for a little while) that you value life more after hearing of a loss?
I was horrified when I read DTC's post last night as I was in email contact with Mikey-as it seems were a lot of others on here. But somehow it always seems to put things in perspective for those still here. Always makes me think at times like these that life is so fragile and yet so precious. Carpe diem.

Indeed..life is so tenuous...Mikey admired you greatly nailit, which is why he asked me for your addy..
Maybe once, but I'm now more accepting that it's end is inevitable. There may be existence afterwards. And even if not one should get their fill whilst here first.
Good morning, Nailit. It's not always easy to live life to the full but, as you say, when something like this untimely death happens, it does make you think about how long you have left and about what you are going to do with that time.
I think mikey lived a fuller life than most; a great shame he missed out on his retirement. I took early retirement myself because something similar happened to a colleague, and I've never regretted it.

Yes, I think it does remind us of our own mortality, being human the tendency is to coast along gaily in the belief you are 'sure' to be ok. Bad things just happen to 'everyone else' - don't they?
