He was aged 90. So he had a good innings. He will be up there with Brucie. RIP.

I thought he was already .
A comedy genius, one of the finest, a sad loss indeed.

RIP Ken.
What a shame. He was a brilliant entertainer. I hope he is at peace with the Diddymen.
There are two certainties in life: death and taxes.

Although my math was never very good.

RIP.
Am I the sole person on AB who has actually been to Diddyland, i.e. the real Knotty Ash?

Lived as a kid near Bessie Braddock's Zig Zag Lane.

Sixteen years old, down? from the "Smoke". Pronounced West Durrby as West Darrby.
Lots of Scouse ***-taking of young VE. Lots of VE love for Scousers.
Did see a year or two ago an "Audience with Ken Dodd". But can only find irritating snippets on YouTube.

Anybody know the channel or can link to the show?
Very sad.
My condolences to Anne - she’s a nice lady. That’s all I have to say
Bessie Braddock? I remember her. She was affectionately known as Stalin's Granny. The legendary exchange between her and Winston Churchill can be found by googling.
...sober in the morning, perhaps, Jackdaw?
Precisely, v-e.
"If you were my husband I'd put ground glass in your coffee."

"And were that the case, I'd drink it, madam."

Who was that?
Thank you Ken for years of laughter. Your timing was perfect as usual, waiting until your 90 before leaving the stage. God bless.
Very sad..went to his show a while back.. over ran by 2 hours ..so funny..vetuste I often used to go to see the diddy men in his garden in knotty ash as a child ..he had signs up to the jam butty mines and wee diddy men figures scattered round, if he was home he would come out with his tickling stick ... Very nice man...
A really funny comedian, the first time I saw him was in the Royal Court Liverpool, I never stopped laughing the whole show. I was 14 in 1961. A great loss
Good for Ken. One up on the tax man by marrying two days before his departure. A great showman.
oh no, that is a sad loss, we saw him in concert and he was the funniest man i ever saw. RIP Ken
