Words I Have Never Used
134 Answers
Just pondering what ‘modern’ words I never use, and never would.
1) Hi.
Hello, I’ll say, or good morning, good day, pleased to meet you, etc, but never “Hi”.
2) Poo (or Poop)
I might have used the word when I was in Primary School, but not since. I’ll use the ‘old’ terms, and if talking to a medic might say faeces or defecate, but never, ever Poo.
3) Wow.
No, I did use it once when the alternative might have needed asterisks, but it’s not part of my everyday speech.
4) Oh My God (or OMG, or Oh My Days, or any other soft non-religious euphemism).
Among friends, I might use some Anglo-Saxon term instead.
5) Awesome.
No further comment necessary.
I imagine you can add many to my list.

'My man' seemed to me to sum us up, and he says 'this is my girl' so pretty equal, but sent Retro into an absolute apoplexy.
That's a sensible and reasoned comment Sparkly and often true I imagine. There's a huge age gap with my grandmother and her husband and everyone said that wouldn't last but it has, I think as with everything else it depends on the people and why you love them or stop loving them as the case may be. Some people are eternally young, others are old when they're 30.
Well there is that, or maybe not if you're lucky but even so, your relationship has to be more than just the physical otherwise it'd never get to the sage where anyone is 80 surely? My Grandmother can pass for 50 on a good day and she's very physically fit, no-one ever clocks that she's anywhere near 80 but even so when she was ill recently her husband was the most attentive and concerned person ever, it was really sweet. I'd like to think that's where we would be.
