"Which? tracked the prices of 94 popular products for six months before and after Black Friday last year.
It said that the "overwhelming majority" - some 87% of those goods - were cheaper at other times of year.
Its analysis covered retailers including Currys PC World, Amazon, John Lewis and Argos"

You old cynic, you, Baz ;-)
At £569 BananaSplits paid £170 less than the artificially-inflated price that Currys were selling it at between 17 October and 19 November

However that's still £133 MORE than he could have paid online with eGlobal Central (which gets a 5-star rating on Google and 4 stars on Trust Pilot):

Seems Samsung have realised the phone was vastly overpriced (as Apple will soon realise with their phones) so have dropped the price.
This price comparison site shows dozens of places where you can buy this phone around the same price as Currys (or cheaper)

There is a small element of risk with eGlobal - but they are among the most reputable firms of their type - reasonably quick delivery and no random extra charges for Customs, unlike some.
I've bought a couple of cameras off them over the last year or two - and will happily use them again - making sure I pay by Credit Card of course.

I don't know about Bicester Village in particular, but many outlet shops sell hideous stuff they can't get rid of in their main stores. If it was any good it would have been snapped up already.
I hate shopping at the best of times, so I'm not going out looking for 'bargains' on the same day that everyone else is.

I've had a samsung galaxy s5 for years now it was time for a change the price for the s9 was extortionate earlier in the year today was a good deal for me I could have got it cheaper by £40 elsewhere but currys is near to me should anything go wrong I can take it back.
Hi bazile will be using it as from Friday when I pick it up

did you buy on their finance....or the server's.....? I squared off my O2 Galaxy and found they continued on with their insurance - and that's illegal, as their local salesman pointed out to HO (I have had the credit now for that) - also my monthly rate came down from 24 to 13 per month, rounded off........
In short, watch these hidden corners that they try and pull, Splits et al.....

hc - don't touch Bicester Village with a barge pole. When it first started it was worth going (if you were local like me) but now it's rip-off high-end designer goods to appeal to the Far East customers (who are probably buying up stuff that was made where they come from!). They get on a train at Marylebone in the morning, go to Bicester Village and return in the afternoon with armfuls of posh carrier bags. Believe me, I've witnessed it.
Since I sadly can't spend Thanksgiving with my partner, (I'm going to be helping in a Soup Kitchen instead so I'm not on my own), he's suggested we have a splurge on Black Friday to cheer me up so yay here comes a new phone and a new Laptop and anything else which takes my fancy- that'll learn him :) x
