Do designers seriously expect women to wear their creations in public: at the supermarket; on a bus or a train? It seems to me that the designers simply want to be noticed, but it seems to be an odd way of getting noticed.
In the No5 Waist Belt category the model on right looks like she is wearing my old Judo suit.I wonder how many thousands some muppess will pay me for it now?
It's not meant to be taken seriously. It's the clothing designers' equivalent of a 'modern art' exhibition. A sort of, "Look at the weird stuff I call fashion, and it must be fashion, because I claim to be a fashion designer and designed it, so there."
I’m more bothered about things like us being told we're out of date if we haven’t got the latest style of anything. Last season it was teeny tiny bags - so small they could hang off your little finger and fit nothing in - this season we must all be carrying giant handbags. According to the fashion editors and designers.
I’ll just stick with my medium-sized one that will carry all my junk.
I like the one on the right in the pointed toe section, she seems to have black bin bags tucked into her boots. Would come in handy when walking the dog.
Just on dear from me! Clinched in waists are just not possible. I shall stick with my shapeless collection. And I hate those colours. One exception - the blue cord suit is lovely and looks like something I would have worn in the 70s.
The only fluff I'll have will be in my belly-button !
My mates would laugh me out of town if I walked into the pub wearing any of those "creations", but then I'm a mere male. Obviously all designed by fashion students (probably still at Primary School).
The more 'out there' clothes are concept pieces never intended to be worn, like concept cars. High Street designers take little bits of the outfits, such as a mixture of tartans, or a quilted top, and design clothes normal people would wear. The trouser suits are nice though....
