Was the homeless Lithuanian who died, not an immigrant?
Traffic accidents are awful, of course, although I'm not sure they are related to the homeless particularly. We definitely need to do a lot more to help people living on the streets. We obviously have spare housing, as you say. But it seems that some people are bypassed once they are out of 'the system'.
Some of the homeless do die in Winter and all the other seasons too - there are a raft of Homeless Charities doing the best they can.

The Lithuanian gentleman may not have reached out for help, I don't know.

Mrs Maider must have been so scared and confused.

Pedestrians are at risk in poor weather conditions, that's awful too.

Shows a lot of priorities on here. While people are dying on the streets, some Corbynistas on this site are more worried about some guy getting a banana for his lunch.
I haven’t read the whole article but as far as I can see it is one homeless person who has died not four. That doesn’t mean that it’s ok for one to die.
It has certainly been a day for facts getting lost in translation and shows no sign of abating.
There seems to be a lot of links posted without being read. Although, I'm not sure that's new... or even that all news is accurate. But it would help, I think, if people were at least talking about the same thing.

the homeless will always be with us, for some its a preferred way of life, for whatever reason, mental drugs both, but there are those who do ask for help, but receive none. waiting lists or nothing available etc.
A rough sleeper was found dead in Glasgow 2 days ago .
can't read the link can you give us the gist.

Always sad to hear of homeless dying in the streets.I wonder if Mrs Sturgeon will convince herself that it was the fault of Westminster.
Obviously our Barnett Formula largesse is not doing much good.
Fat lot of good a free prescription and Free University fees did this poor soul much good. :-(
according to the news, though i can't give you figures, there have been a record number of deaths up in Scotland over the last year. Drug related, mental health related and simple homelessness. dire
Retrocop. What an stupid attempt to gain political points .
RETROCOP, why not use Google to see if she has made any such comments?
Question Author
anneasquith, retro said nothing untoward..sturgeon talks the talk..
she blames scotlands ill on westminster and her-scotlands lack..lack
of independence, meanwhile her giveaways for points, sounds and is incredulous..i thinks she has lost the plot, she is a zealot, the man on the street is a byword now..she's gone hard core and lost the plot, needs of the many etc.. err the boats sinking, no its not we need a new captain, still sinking, it's not....whatever
Emmie - from the link posted by Fender.

//Pedestrian killed by truck on M4 westbound between Langley and Slough in Berkshire at about 3.45am
Another walker is then killed an hour later by HGV at 4.45am on the A34 near Winchester in Hampshire

Helen Maider, 89, went missing in cold weather at 6am in Scotland before being found dead this afternoon

Lithuanian rough sleeper aged 57 was found dead inside a tent at 9.45am in Wakefield in West Yorkshire //
so terribly sad, thank you for the post ^^
As I read it, a woman stole his tarpaulin that was shielding his tent somewhat. If so, I wonder if she feels partly responsible?
Nobody in Britain should be homeless in this day and age, excdpt through choice. We have the money to solve this but prefer to give it to other countries which bite the hand that feeds them.
