Learning Bulgarian!

Does anyone have any experience of learning Bulgarian? Is there an easy online app I could use? I only want some basic stuff. We're entertaining about 20 people from there in the summer so I'd like some basic phrases to make them feel welcome.

I'm currently learning Spanish and use Duolingo .... however, I've just had a quick look and Bulgarian isn't one of the languages on there :(

Thanks Giz. I'll give it a go. I just wonder how easy it is.

I did French, German, Spanish and Latin at school. I've since managed a smattering of Italian and polish when I was there. But not sure how I'll cope with a Slavic language by app!

If all you want is a few basic phrases you’d be better off just googling them

It's a pity Duolingo doesn't have Bulgarian.
I'm using it to learn Swedish right now. It's quite thorough.

I think you could do well to put "learning Bulgarian" into Youtube. A lot of videos turn up. You may have to sift through them, but, for what you need, I reckon it'll do it.

I've been using Duolingo over the last year too. :-) Not for any reason other than trying to keep my brain working at something new and that is naturally difficult for me. It's ok.

Sorry to hear it can't solve Barmaid's requirement. I'd suggest just searching at Play Store, or wherever you get your apps. Likely to be something somewhere.

Yeah, search for "Bulgarian" and quite a few pop up. All seem rated 4 point something out of five; for what that's worth.
