I am so sorry to the English,
I thought it was only English who were guilty of panic buying,
My first visit to Morrison’s really opened my eyes to the Scottish mentality,
What is wrong with you people have you no self respect,
Pushing and shoving, grabbing at toilet rolls ,
What happened to the Dunkirk spirit?
God help us is we are ever in that situation again.

Don't worry, we've got broad shoulders!
There will come a time when people have so many toilet rolls that they have no room for more. Myself included!

There will be calm after the storm and it will also be the calm before the real storm, whihc is the level of infection still to come.
Even the Ocado website is restricting access at the moment! I've never seen anything like that before.
I believe a lot of it is down to the government not taking a firm hand in the beginning.
Sorry pressed enter too soon.
There is talk of people self isolation anything from 2 weeks to 4 months, there is no clear direction on what self isolation involves, so people are panicking and trying to be prepared for worst case scenario.
Perhaps the government wants to consider rationing
does seem a bit daft, but i guess if people are going to be shut indoors for any length of time what are you going to do...
They could try what I'm doing Em. Booking my next online delivery straight after taking delivery of my current one thereby being assured of getting it when I need it.
LB, sadly there were no on line delivery for two weeks
according to sainsburys except two slots, one off which i took..
shops are rationing things, which I think is sensible. Having said that, Tesco rationing toilet rolls to five pairs makes no difference if they haven't got any anyway.

But as MartinMillar says: if you suspect you're going to be in solitary for an indefinite period, it's only common sense to stock up before it happens.
Meanwhile the shopkeepers are rubbing their hands with glee , if you're prepared to fork out .

Saw yesterday a pack of 9 toilet rolls for £8
yes, we scored a small bottle of sanitiser for £9. I'll bet it was in Poundland a couple of weeks ago.
Em, then book your next one now, depending on how far forward Sainsbury's let you book. Just put any old thing in to add up to the minimum amount. You can alter it as you go forward.
LB, true but i have most of everything i need, plenty of food in the freezer, veg ok, loo rolls ordered
ladybirder - isn't that "panic booking"?
i could buy some from local shops i guess, but i do usually get all my stuff from sainsburys on line.
No delivery slots at all on the Sainsbury's site for Derby. I'm guessing they've removed them all until they've restocked the stores.
Robinia, i am in the capital, you would think there wouldn't be a problem.....
Is it bhg? All I'm doing is buying what I need when I need it. As I can't go out what would you suggest I do? Leaving it until closer the time risks all the slots being taken. Your suggestions welcome.

The media has alot to answer for. It is papers and TV news reports that are firing people up and causing so much panic buying.

I suppose they can't be reporting on the December election, Brexit or Thunberg now so they're fixated on frightening everyone with Coronavirus updates but not telling us about patients that have recovered. The media hates to report good news.
